Prince William and his wife Catherine’s first comments on the Jeffrey Epstein scandal
( CNN)A spokesman for Kensington Palace said that the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and his wife Princess Kate Middleton, are “deeply concerned” about what has been revealed in the new set of documents relating to Jeffrey Epstein that were released by the US Department of Justice.
Speaking to reporters in Riyadh, ahead of Prince William’s visit to Saudi Arabia later on Monday, a spokesman for Kensington Palace offered the couple’s perspective on the crisis that has rocked the royal palace and parliament in Britain in recent weeks.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, brother of King Charles and uncle of Prince William, is among several prominent figures in British public life who have faced renewed scrutiny over his ties to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
A palace spokesman said: “I can confirm that the Prince and Princess are deeply concerned about what these documents continue to reveal.”
The spokesperson added: “Their focus remains on the victims.”

Last October, Mountbatten-Windsor was ordered to leave the sprawling 30-room Royal Lodge mansion, located in the heart of the Crown Estate in Windsor, just outside London, after his brother, King Charles III, distanced him from the royal family in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
