Russian media: A Russian general was shot in Moscow and taken to hospital.

The Russian state-run military television channel Zvezda, citing the Russian Investigative Committee, reported that a Russian general was shot in Moscow and taken to the hospital.
A spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement on Friday that an unidentified assailant fired several shots at a man in an apartment building on the Volkolamskoye Highway in Moscow, then fled.
The victim, identified by Russian state media as Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev of the Ministry of Defense, was taken to a city hospital.
The Russian Investigative Committee confirmed that its officers were at the scene of the incident and that it had opened a criminal investigation into “attempted murder”.
